Thursday 24 August 2023 GCSE Results 2023 We are proud of each and every one of our students; for the effort they have put into their learning, and for all of their achievements whilst they have been with us in school. As a group they have accomplished our best ever English and Maths at grades 9 – 5. This is even more impressive given that they are the first cohort of students to sit GCSEs with no adjustments since COVID disruption to learning in 2020 and 2021. We know they have shown incredible resilience during their education.

Monday 14 August 2023 Bring back your books We kindly ask that students attending the Results Days on Thursday 17 or Thursday 24 August return any exercise books they have used for their GCSE or post-16 studies. For the KS5 Results Day, this will be from the LaSWAP building at Parliament Hill School.

Monday 31 July 2023 Burghley Youth Dance Company Audition Burghley Youth Dance Company is auditioning for its next round of dancers. The company is open to all students in Y8–Y10. If you are interested in being part of the next dance company to perform and compete at events such as the Camden Youth Dance Festival, London Youth Games, Step Live and our annual dance show, then this is for you! Successful students train on a weekly basis with choreographer Kevin Young to create work to perform at venues such as The Place, Sadler’s Wells, The Southbank Centre and many more.

Monday 24 July 2023 Help install an award-winning garden On Monday 3 July, two students and two members of staff were lucky enough to attend the press day at the Hampton Court Flower Show to see the garden specifically designed for and generously donated to the school by Viriditas Garden Design studio.

Friday 7 July 2023 OAE music and dance collaboration The dance and music departments are collaborating with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to create a site-specific performance piece that will premiere at the Celebrating Excellent Arts Exhibition on Friday 14 July.

Friday 30 June 2023 Remote GCSE results collection If your child is not able to collect their GCSE results in person, they can request them emailed or posted, or nominate someone to collect on their behalf. This must be requested before the end of term. Friday 30 June 2023 LaSWAP enrolment LaSWAP enrolment for Acland Burghley students will take place on the morning of GCSE results day on Thursday 24 August. Students will be enrolled in person when they collect their results. There may be a short queue so please ask your child to wait – it won't take long!

Tuesday 27 June 2023 Transforming the Assembly Hall: how you can get involved The National Lottery Heritage Fund has already given us £110,000 to help us get going. They will give us another £650,000 in a year’s time, but… we have to raise £1.3 million ourselves to qualify. We are hoping that most of this money will come initially from trusts and foundations and a small number of extremely generous donors. After that, we will broaden the appeal to involve the whole community.We already have a lot of interest from the press, local businesses and community groups as well as cultural and heritage bodies including our very own resident orchestra the OAE. What we need now is a committed group of volunteers to drive things forward. If you're interested or know someone in the wider community who you think we should be contacting, then please do let us know as soon as possible. The hall was originally intended to be a community space, hence being set apart from the main school. The Heritage Fund love the idea of restoring this space to its

Friday 23 June 2023 New Y11 revision timetables During Monday’s Personal Development session all new Y11 started their revision timetables with guidance from their tutor. Please ask to see your child’s and check in with them regularly to see that they are sticking with it or to make adaptations if it is not working.

Friday 9 June 2023 Y11 resources and new Y11 revision support As Y11 finish some of their subjects in their GCSEs please could you think about whether you have any resources that could be returned to school. We always have students who can make use of revision guides, texts, and so on and we really appreciate the ones we get back as we can use them to support the next cohort.

Friday 26 May 2023 Y10 end of year exams and Y11 revision On the Year 10 page of the school website is the end of year exam timetable for our current Y10s.
