Subject Leader for Technology

Overview

The Governing Body of Acland Burghley School is seeking to appoint an outstanding Subject Leader for Technology from September 2026.

This is an exciting career opportunity for an outstanding classroom teacher who is ready to lead and motivate their own team. The successful candidate will articulate a compelling curriculum vision, and will be ambitious to make technology a beacon of excellence within our creative and inclusive school. They will have good understanding of how leaders support teachers in a team to implement the curriculum consistently, ensuring that the impact of provision is good for all learners, including those who are disadvantaged, and those with SEND.

The department has 3 other strong teachers (including an ECT) and is supported by a curriculum technician. It sits within a larger Creative Arts and Technology Faculty, which includes Dance, Drama, Music and Art. The school places emphasis on creative subjects in its curriculum design. Technology is a popular choice at GCSE, and Food Technology forms an important part of our KS4 inclusion offer. A Level Technology is taught within the 6th form consortium, LaSWAP.

Personal attributes
