abSecretArtAuction launch

The launch of the abSecretArtAuction in the Assembly Hall on Thursday 6 December was a wonderful event. Daniel from the Frame Factory had mounted all of the postcard sized artworks for display. Families and friends of the school who attended the event were able to view the art. There was also a live auction for a wonderful portrait of Freddie Mercury.

Mark Wallinger, our Artist in Residence, spoke about his enthusiasm for working in the school. He has kindly agreed to give over chunks of time to support students in developing their skills.

The abSecretArtAuction is live until 21 December. Do take a look at it here:

It is good fun, and it is raising money for the feasibility study into a longer term project for transforming the Assembly Hall into a first class performance and exhibition space. The capital works which will improve the building’s windows, doors, heating and toilets is due to get underway in January.
