GCSE Results Success 2025
Today we have been celebrating the significant achievements of our Y11 students as they received their GCSE results. It has been a day full of pride, joy and well-deserved recognition for the hard work, determination and resilience our students have shown throughout their time at Acland Burghley.
Our students, their families, and the entire Acland Burghley community should feel immensely proud. Over the past five years, starting in the tail end of the pandemic, our students have faced significant challenges with maturity, perseverance and a strong sense of purpose. Today, they have been rightly rewarded for their efforts.
We are delighted to share that 33.5% of all GCSE grades awarded this year were at grades 9–7, the best ever performance at this level. This outstanding achievement reflects the high aspirations and academic excellence that continue to grow across the school.
We would particularly like to celebrate some exceptional individual successes

At Acland Burghley, we are committed to supporting every learner, regardless of their starting point, to make real progress and achieve their full potential. We are especially proud that so many students have reached such high standards across a broad curriculum – including in subjects such as drama, psychology, and the EBacc, where students achieved some of our strongest ever results.
Today, many of our students are enrolling at LaSWAP Sixth Form, ready to take the next step in their education with confidence and ambition. Others are embarking on exciting journeys into further education, apprenticeships, and training. Whatever their chosen path, we are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to hearing about their future successes.
Congratulations, Y11, you have done yourselves and your school proud. We wish you all the very best in your next endeavours.

Very pleased with my results. The science teachers at Acland Burghley have really helped me.
Daniel M
I’m happy with my grades. The teachers have been very helpful, in particular Mr Goodacre and Mr Kibreab.
Zain S
Very happy today. I love Acland Burghley. I recommend the school to everyone I know. It's the best. All the teachers have been very supportive. I chose LaSWAP because of the choice of courses and because LaSWAP offers Latin. The consortium is like a big version of Acland Burghley – which I love.

Pleased, proud and reassured.
