Debate Mate Cup results

I am delighted to share some fantastic news from this week’s Debate Mate Cup competition which was attended by some of our debaters. Our students performed exceptionally well, achieving a podium finish, with our two groups placing 4th and 5th out of more than 20 teams. This is a wonderful achievement and a testament to their dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm. Students were congratulated by the organisation on reaching a podium finish in their first year of competing.

Beyond the results, the competition highlighted just how much our students have gained from the programme. They have developed confidence in public speaking, strengthened their critical thinking skills, and learned how to build and challenge arguments effectively. It was wonderful to see them supporting one another, thinking on their feet, and speaking with clarity and conviction.

As we approach the end of the programme, a quick reminder that Debate Mate will finish next week. The final sessions will take place on:

• Tuesday 28 April for group 1
• Wednesday 29 April for group 2

Thank you for your continued support. I am incredibly proud of the progress the students have made and the positive way they have represented the school in all competitions. We look forward to making their last session a memorable one.
