Y8 HPV Vaccination on Thursday 6 October

Thursday 6 October 2022

Y8 HPV for all boys and girls 2022-23 (Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination)

We are writing to advise you that the School Aged Immunisation Team will soon be visiting Acland Burghley School on Thursday 6 October 2022 to deliver the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination.

The HPV vaccine is now being offered to all students, male and female and offers protection against infection from the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) which can lead to a range of cancers in later life. This virus increases the risk of developing some cancers later in life, such as cervical cancer, some mouth and throat cancers and some cancers of the anus and genital areas. By having the HPV vaccine, they will be protecting themselves and others from a very serious disease later in life.

We believe your child should be vaccinated and we are now inviting parents/guardians to register your consent for the above vaccination. The School Health Service are now using an electronic method of communication which is a faster, more efficient and a safer way to deliver your child's health information. We have developed a secure online link that parents/guardians can use to register consent for the vaccination. The process is quick and easy to use.

Step 1: Please either register for an account if this is your first time using the Thomson parent portal or login if you have already created an account. If this is your first time registering you will receive an email to confirm your account and set a password.

Step 2: Once you login you can read the information on the HPV vaccination programme and indicate your consent.

Please right click on the link (open hyperlink) to access the eConsent:
