Y10 Information Evening and Y11 Exams

Families of Y10 students, together with their child, are invited to an information evening on Thursday 26 May at 5.30pm. The purpose of this evening will be to talk about the cohort moving into Y11 in the Flying Start, the formal assessment period in July, and share effective independent learning skills. Since we were not able to meet with you in person for their parents’ evening we are very much looking forward to seeing you then.

Start of Public Examinations for Y11

Please support your child next week to in their preparations for exams; one of the main things you can do at home is ensure that they get a good night’s sleep before their exams (away from their screens) and eat breakfast before they come into school. Please also make sure your child is suitably dressed with layers they can take on or off during the school day. The exam hall may be cooler than outside on some days. They also must bring in a bottle of water on the day of their exams so that they can stay hydrated.

Do remember that all of the important information is on the Year 11 page of the school website. There is an advance information booklet which details all of the key topics students need to prepare for as well as links to useful resources and tips on how to complete effective revision. The exam timetable is also on that page so that you can check.

Lastly, I would like to remind you that punctuality is of the utmost importance during this period since our school, as an examination centre, has to adhere to the JCQ regulations around this. It is possible that if a child arrives late they will not be able to sit their exam.

Below are the revision opportunities available for Y11 for the next two weeks

In addition to this the library is open on Saturdays from 10am until 1pm, and there will be revision opportunities during the half term on Monday to Wednesday.
