I am very excited to introduce myself to you as your new Year Team Leader for Y11. Together we will help make sure that you end your Burghley journey with success.
I’m really looking forward to being able to support you through your last year at Acland Burghley. There is a great team in place to support Y11 and together we will be working to make sure that every student feels happy, safe and supported throughout this vital year.
As a team we believe that every student at Acland Burghley has a bright future and the ability to fulfil their dreams and aspirations. This could be via an apprenticeship, 6th form, college or staying on with us at LaSWAP. There are many opportunities available and with the guidance of myself, your tutors and teachers, together we will help you decide which option is best for you and in turn help to make these a reality.
Our priorities for this year are to ensure that all students make excellent progress and achieve the GCSE results they deserve next summer. This will only happen if you commit to attending all lessons and participating fully both inside and outside of the classroom. This will include taking advantage of all the extra support offered within the school, such as: workshops, sporting activities, opportunities to develop as a leader, attending subject specific revision sessions and residential activities.
We aim to make your Y11 a memorable experience, in which you not only leave us with the knowledge that you’ve done your very best in your exams, but also with the confidence that you are now fully prepared to deal with any of the challenges life will throw at you.
The expertise of the Y11 team contributes to all the above and we are available for support should you require it. Please feel free to email or call through to any of the team with any queries.
With best wishes,
Year Team Leader - Y11
