Dear Parents, Carers, and Families,
As the end of the first half of the spring term approaches I would like to draw your attention to the following;
- Publication of summer exam timetables
- Half term revision opportunities
- March Assessment Information
The summer exam timetables have now been published and the first public examination will take place on Monday 16 May. A full list of exam dates can be found on the Year 11 page of the school website. I would encourage you to print a copy and have it stuck up somewhere at home, if at all possible.
There will be a number of revision activities on offer during the half-term break. The library will also be open for student use every day from 9:30 until 3:30. I would encourage all year students to use this time wisely and treat revision like a full-time job during this and indeed both the Easter and may half-term holidays. The average year 11 student spends 8 hours at school a day (this includes a 50 minute lunch and 25 minute break). I would expect most students to match that work rate during any school holidays.
We have also collated a full information booklet covering the March assessments; both the mock examinations in the week beginning the 14 March, and in class assessments which will take place before this date. Please do read these through with your child.
I very much enjoyed seeing so many of you at the information evening. If you were not able to join us or you would like to revisit any of the information given then we have made the slides available.
There are a limited number of days of teaching days left this academic year. When you factor in weekends, holidays, and the March mock exams there are under 50 days of lessons left before the first exam, and so attendance and punctuality are more important than ever.
