Royal Institution science trip

Every year the Royal Institution in London (with a long history of scientific research and education) produce, with the BBC, a Christmas lecture aimed at young people. This year the speaker was Jonathan Van-Tam who is an epidemiologist and acts as an independent advisor to the Government as one of England’s two Deputy Chief Medical Officers. He led the evening and explained how viruses work, are transmitted and how they can be detected. We took 10 students from Y9 and Y10 who were all enthusiastic audience members and had a great time. It will be shown on BBC4 on 28 December at 8pm.
