OAE music and dance collaboration
The dance and music departments are collaborating with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to create a site-specific performance piece that will premiere at the Celebrating Excellent Arts Exhibition on Friday 14 July.
New Y10 Music students in Mr Kempson’s and Ms Dawson’s classes will be creating the sound score for the performance. New Y10 dance students in Mr Williams class are creating site-specific choreography as part of the performance.
Students will be off timetable on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 July periods 1-5 to work closely with the OAE to create the performance piece. Attendance to all sessions on both days is imperative.
On the day, students will be off timetable period 4 and 5 to rehearse the piece in preparation for the performance in the evening. All music and dance students must attend the rehearsals and evening performance. The final performance in the evening will be recorded and used to summatively assess students in each subject as they have completed their first half term of the subject at GCSE Level.
Please ensure your child is fully prepared for all rehearsals and the live performance on Friday 14 July 2023.
