Trailblazing mental health scheme launch at Acland Burghley

We were delighted to welcome Education Secretary Damian Hinds and Matt Hancock Secretary for Health and Social Care yesterday, Wednesday 19th December when we hosted the launch of a new scheme for the Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Focused on building on the established CAMHS school service, provided by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, a new Mental Health Support Team (MHST) will target young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties as well as supporting vulnerable groups who are at increased risk of developing mental health problems. Camden was successful in securing funding for this additional team and you can read more about it on the Camden website: http://news.camden.gov.uk/camden-successfully-bids-for-young-peoples-mental-health-funding/

Our school was chosen to host the pilot scheme because of our strong Safeguarding staffing model and close partnerships with families.
