KS3 Pastoral Teams

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all student in Key Stage 3 back to the school year, especially those who started this week as new Y7 students.

They have had a fantastic start and are a very talented group of young people that as a school community, we are looking forward to getting to know them, to ensure that they have a successful and happy time at Acland Burghley School. 

Next week all of Key Stage 3 will have met their new teachers and be prepared for the academic year ahead. Each year group will have its own set of priorities and students will set their own personal targets for their academic progress.

Without exception, we expect the highest standards from all of our students and I want to remind families of our expectation of being ready to ‘learn and achieve’. All students should:

• Attend school every day and be punctual
• Be prepared for learning and bring all books and equipment every day
• Take pride in their work – make sure their books are covered with plastic
• Work hard in all lessons and produce the high standard of work they know they are capable of
• Respond to teachers marking and feedback
• Complete all homework and regularly check ShowMyHomework
• Always have a reading book and read as often as they can
• Get involved in clubs and activities outside of lessons.

The KS3 Teams

The pastoral teams at Acland Burghley are here to support all of our students and to make sure that they make excellent progress. Parents and carers should contact their child’s tutor in the first instance or the relevant subject teacher.
