Extra-curricular clubs in PE

Throughout this week, there have been various fixtures in the extra-curricular clubs in PE. Below are the results and a small summary of each team.

Girls Basketball

Y7

We played our first game in the Camden shield tournament. The girls nervously started in the first half but completely turned it around in the 2nd half and stopped the other team scoring. Excellent performance from Lacey who was the Acland Burghley player of the match.

Y8

This was also the first game of the Camden shield league for the Y8 girls. The girls stepped up ready to play from the whistle. They stayed focused and determined with outstanding performances from Edie and Ayla. The final score was an 18-8 win!

Y7 Athletics

The athletics season kicked off at the Indoor athletics tournament at Haverstock school. Facing several teams across the borough, we competed well and finished top of several of the events. The standout was Jeriah K who managed a massive 8 metres in the triple jump.

Boys Football

Y7 Football

The Y7 team played their 3rd round game in the inner London cup and came up against a strong Stoke Newington team. The first half was close between the teams, with the pitch playing a huge factor in being unable to bring the ball down and play like we usually do. However, after a conversation at half time and 2 subs being made, the team managed to find a breakthrough when Daniele scored 5 minutes in to the half. This was closely followed by 2 goals from the Man of the Match Riley R to end the game 3-1. We now face St Michael’s in the 4th round. Good luck!!

Y8 Football

Y8 started their Camden Shield football campaign with a strong 4-2 win against Regents High School. They went 2-1 down and showed great levels of resilience to turn the game around. This was helped by a great save from Omar Jacobson just before we equalised. The game changer was Arthur Shaw stepping into midfield, who then started to dictate the play and set us on our way to victory. MOTM: Arthur S.

Boys Basketball

U12 Basketball

U12 won their latest basketball fixture in a hard-fought game which went to overtime. The team are now top of their group and are in the playoffs of the Jr NBA national competition.
