U13 football match report

WOW, what a way to kick of the season with a whopping 6-1 win!

It was a bit of a strange warm up as we’d never played together before however, we got stuck in. The match started off a bit slow but then Edie P got subbed on and the fun begun! Within her first thirty seconds of playing, she scored a brilliant goal! From then on it only got better.

Next to score was Amy S and with her determination and targeted shot she got us another goal. Following in their footsteps was Anna G-S whose goal was so good she got voted player of the match. By then it was nearly half time and we were all on the edge of our seat to see if we would get another goal and keep our clean sheet.

Luckily, we had Mae A there whose powerful headers stop any balls hitting the back of our net, and of course our amazing goalkeeper Poppy D.

Amazing Buna was in the middle feeding the passes and assists! Half time had come and on came Poppy K, Amani S, Emmie-Mae and Samantha B who were the engine of our midfield. Alongside Noor C, Bella M-O and Edie B, we had a solid team.

Joni C, with our first goal after half time scored a jaw-dropping goal which shook the other team up just a bit as they managed to score a goal. In a moment of weakness, we conceded but we kept our heads up high. Then in came Samantha with a brilliant goal!

The whistle blew and the celebrations exploded! We were all so proud of ourselves having never played together to winning 6-1 in our first game!

We couldn’t have done it without our brilliant coach Ms Mullings. We are now through to the second round of the National cup!
