35 members of Acland Burghley staff, joined by a governor and a parent, ran the 5km Race for Life on Hampstead Heath last Saturday. We were motivated by wanting to show our support for two colleagues with recent diagnoses of breast cancer – but we soon realised that first and foremost the collective spirit on the Heath was pure fun! We warmed up with aerobics and zumba, ran jogged or walked 5km, and celebrated together at the end. We are all proud of our medals and even more proud that the team has already raised £5500 for Cancer Research UK!
Thank you very much to all colleagues, friends and supporters of the school for your good wishes and generous sponsorship. It is not too late to donate – the webpage is still open!
