Acland Burghley is a mixed comprehensive school in the London Borough of Camden. There are approximately 900 students in Y7-11 and a further 250 in the sixth form. The school is part of the popular and highly successful sixth form consortium called LaSWAP with Parliament Hill, La Sainte Union and William Ellis Schools.

As a local community school, Acland Burghley reflects the diversity of the residents in our area, with a balanced intake of ability and social class. The majority of students come from ten primary schools in Camden and Islington borough and our local reputation is high. We are committed to a broad and balanced curriculum, with the aim of achieving academic excellence for all. The school is a Specialist Arts College and there is also a strong emphasis on creativity and participation in a wide range of arts activities and events. 

Teacher of Mathematics

The maths faculty enjoys excellent leadership and good exam results. There would be an opportunity to teach post 16 students, as well as a mix of classes aged 11-16. The successful candidate will also be a form tutor. This post would suit a NQT, or a more experienced candidate looking to develop their experience in a new setting.

Teaching & Learning Assistants (English & Humanities Specialisms)

Acland Burghley School is seeking to appoint 2 exceptional Teaching and Learning Assistants with English and humanities specialisms on a fixed term basis. Successful applicants will have a passionate commitment to ensuring that every child makes outstanding academic progress. They will have a deep understanding of the role that adults within and outside the classroom can play in supporting young people with additional educational needs to develop independence and to overcome barriers to learning. The post holders will be members of the Additional Educational Needs Faculty, which supports learning across the school as well as in the specialist Autism Resource Base. Their work will be based within the English or humanities faculties, supporting those teams to deliver an outstanding quality of provision for all students. TLAs are also sometimes required to cover lessons within the faculty.

Librarian and Curriculum Support Team Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a new Librarian and Curriculum Support Team Manager to manage and develop the school library as an outstanding learning resource centre.The successful applicant will lead the team of Curriculum Technicians who provide technical support to our science, creative arts and technology departments.
