GCSE results

Congratulations to our Y11 cohort who have performed so well in their GCSEs. We are exceptionally proud of this cohort who have worked so hard all year. They are now in an excellent position to take their next steps into Post-16 study and beyond.

GCSE results across subjects have had brilliant success with 71 students achieving at least one of the new top grades 9-7. We were thrilled to see 14 of our students achieve the top grade 9 in English Literature, 26% of students achieved top grades 9-7 in Maths and 81% achieved a grade 9-4 in English. 21 grade 9s were achieved in the new more rigorous Science GCSEs while 80% of students achieved a grade 9-4 in a Modern Foreign Language. With a strong suite of GCSEs, Acland Burghley students are now set and ready to embark on a variety of pathways and opportunities that are open to them.

We would be delighted to welcome many of our students back at LaSWAP as they begin their journey into further education either on academic or vocational courses.

Nicholas John, Headteacher, said:

What a fantastic testament to the resilience and hard work of these young people. I am proud to see so many of them today enjoying the success they so richly deserve. I am particularly pleased to see so many top grades which are now so much more difficult to achieve. Well done to them all.
