The Heart of our School - A Theatre for All

Acland Burghley School would like to know whether you could be a part of an ambitious project to restore our Grade 2 listed Assembly Hall back to its original vision – a state of the art performance space for our students and the local community.

We have developed a very short survey to hear local people’s opinions on the project. The results of this survey will help us get an idea of what the school community need from a performance space and will form a key part of our fundraising bid. We’d be extremely grateful if you could take the survey and help us make this dream project a reality.

What are we hoping to achieve?

As you may be aware, the outside of the building and adjoining classrooms are currently undergoing some basic refurbishment. A feasibility study for the next phase of the work has been carried out by world-renowned theatre architecture specialists, Haworth Tompkins. The proposals will return the interior to its former layout, rediscover the world-class acoustics of the space, and incorporate innovative new staging and seating solutions.

Have your say…

We are hoping parents and carers will be a driving force behind the refurbishment and would like to hear your thoughts about what we can offer in return. In addition to the survey above, we’d like to invite you to one of two consultation groups on either:

Tuesday 2 July 4 - 5 pm 7.30 - 8.30 pm
or:
Wednesday 3 July 7.30 - 8.30 pm
